The 44th Weston Sandocross

SUNDAY 18TH MAY 2008

We welcome all competitors, marshals and officials to Weston Motor Club's SANDOCROSS. This unique event in the motor sport calender is the only one of its kind to be run on a beach venue within mainland Great Britain and we are pleased to be once more included in the Richard Egger Insurance Southern Counties Autocross Championship which is a combined ASWMC and ACSMC Autocross series as well as two regional club championships. Bournemouth & District Car Club Speed Championship and our own Alexandre Trophy Championship. Our class structure combines the popular rally car class within the general autocross classification.

Sandocross first ran in 1971 under an Autocross MSA permit and during the eraly years, Weston Motor Club ran two events in the same year but this was later reduced to just one annual event which has now run every year with the exception of 1993 & 2001, the latter due to the Foot & Mouth epidemic.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank North Somerset District Council for the continued use of the splendid beach venue.
